Psalms, Prophecies, and Peat
I know what I'm about to post is old news but here it is: A construction worker in Ireland discovered a book of Psalms in a peat bog. When the worker picked it up, the book was open to Psalm 83. Every news source that I have read so far has given a misinterpretation of that Psalm. Most of them say that the Psalm refers to various nations' attempts to destroy Israel or simply to the destruction of Israel--as if the discovery of this book is some omen of doom for Israel. What the Word of God really records is the psalmist's prayer to God to destroy, not Israel, but the enemies of Israel! The book has been dated to earlier than 1000 B.C.
